Throughout the 3,800 kilometers of extension from north to south, the surface of vineyards in Argentina covers 215 thousand hectares, which correspond to a range of varieties that give rise to wines of the highest oenological quality. What is interesting is that the diversity of terroirs prints a different character and a profile specific to each variety, 18% are white varieties, and the largest growing area is in Mendoza.
Chardonnay ranks second among the traditional white varieties of Argentina. It is highly prized due to its ability to mature well and produce a wide range of wines, ranging from sparkling wine bases to burly varietals fermented in oak barrels, to fresh, elegant, woodless wines. Its most frequent primary descriptors are tropical fruits and apples.
